Dhal (Parippu) Mallum
Dhal is a very common curry in our day today meal. Have you ever eaten dhal as a mallum? Let’s try that today.
Ingredients:
- Masoor Dhal – 150g
- Water – 04 cups
- Turmeric Powder – ½ tsp
- Few Cinnamon Sticks
- Curry Leaves
- Pandun Leaves
- Grated Coconut – 01 cup
- Red Onions – 07-08
- Garlic Cloves – 04
- Green Chilies – 03
- Mustard – 01 tsp
- Red Chilies – 03
- Chili Powder – 02 tsp
- Curry Powder – 02 tsp
- Salt – 02 tsp
- Coconut Oil – 01 tbsp
Method:
- Wash Dhal very well and put into your cooking pot.
- Add water, chili powder, curry powder, turmeric powder, salt, curry leaves, pandun leaves and green chilies.
- Cook dhal for few minutes. But, don’t overcook.
- Then heat oil in a pan and put mustard in to that.
- Add curry leaves, pandun leaves, salt, garlic, onions and few cinnamon sticks into oil.
- Cook them for few minutes and then add grated coconut.
- Mix coconut well with all ingredients and then add cooked dhal.
